In a much-anticipated announcement, the Select League has officially released the schedule for its inaugural season, promising a thrilling lineup of soccer action set to kick off on Friday, April 6. The first match of the season will see Southside FC take on Woodland FC in a Friday night showdown at 5:00 pm in Shawnee, KS.
The following day, Saturday, April 7, promises a soccer bonanza with all the teams in the league hitting the pitch. Northland FC will host Lenexa City, and Crown Villa will face off against Liberty FC, both matches scheduled for 1:00 pm. The evening matches will feature Leawood Forest against Olathe United and Real Overland Park taking on Lee's Summit Athletic, with both games kicking off at 5:00 pm.
The Select League's unique format will see each of the eight teams facing off against one another twice, once at home and once away. Teams will earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. As the season progresses, the competition will be fierce, and every match will count in the race for the championship.
The grand finale of the season is set for August 3, where the team with the highest accumulated points will be crowned the first-ever Select League champions. With 90 matches scheduled throughout the season, fans can expect a rollercoaster of emotions as teams battle for supremacy on the field.
While the majority of matches will be played on Saturdays, the Select League has accommodated the demands of the calendar by scheduling a few Friday and Monday evening games, allowing players and fans to enjoy the beautiful game without missing out on holiday festivities.
